Art Deco was considered to be the most glamorous and popular style of the 1920’s and 1930’s. This lecture will review the development of the style within the context of its social and economic environment and look at specific examples of objects d’arts, including silver, jewellery, furniture, ceramics, clocks and architecture.

An MA graduating in Art History at St Andrew’s University, Pamela, is now a freelance art consultant and a lecturer with over 30 years’ experience, including 12 years at the Royal Academy, work experience at Bonhams, the Art Loss Register and the National Trust. Pamela has tutored undergraduates, adult groups, and Friends and Patrons of the Royal Academy as part of the RA’s Adult Education Department. She has lead numerous tours and residential trips and guided gallery talks.
With a particular love of the 1920’s and 1930’s, Pamela specialises in British Domestic Architecture and Modern British Art.
