Tony has been a writer and director of historic pantomimes throughout England for 30 years. He has researched pantomime, from its origins and evolution, from the commedia dell’arte roots to its first British representation in Georgian England through to the Victorian spectaculars and music hall. Tony has been a showman, researcher and teacher for over 40 years. He has run theatre venues, companies, festivals and events for a wide range of diverse communities. In 2017 he was awarded a doctorate by Exeter University where he is a part time lecturer. He regularly broadcasts for radio and television and in 2022 published a book ‘Don’t Forget The Pierrots’.
